Today was one of those days. The kind of day where I had a huge to-do list, and maybe 3 things were crossed off. Not sure ‘cuz I lost the list.
My second son was whiny…so much so that I am hoping that he comes down with a fever so that I can excuse the crazy behavior. Actually I think all 4 of ’em must have caught something. That’s it…that’s why no one could do what they were suppose to do – when they were suppose to do it…Right?
Maybe I should have crossed off some of the things that I thought were so necessary. In their place could have been things like:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
• Bible Study
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall directyour paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
• Share joy with my family
“But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.” Psalm 5:11
As a side note on the list I could have added the reminder to “SLOW DOWN!”. Ya know, so I don’t push a child aside who wants to help, and actually include them. Oh, and to help not get so frazzled that I drop dinner on the floor. (yep)
How can I expect to get done what’s really important if I am not going to Him who is most important?
Lord willing, I’ll change that list tomorrow…and although it may be another one of those days…I won’t be defeated. I won’t pick up the pity shovel.
How we start our days, and how we align our priorities has a rippling effect doesn’t it? How will your daily to-do list change? Share a comment below.
